Job Description:

PacketLogix is aggressively seeking to expand our engineering department and fill the role of Systems Engineer for the New England and mid-Atlantic territories covering all of its product and service lines. Some of the solutions we offer are Meraki Wireless, Cisco, Aruba Networks, NetScout, Ixia, Bridgewave Communications, Uila, Armis to name a few.  We seek to expand our pre-sales and post-sales service offerings with a passionate, enthusiastic and committed individual to help expand our customer base and service existing customers.

The territory is all inclusive of all commercial, SMB and SLED accounts. You will inherit the ongoing project pipeline and support renewal stream from which to significantly expand the future business. The person in this position will work closely with your account management sales team to drive customer awareness, sales, and future business development.  

Responsibilities:

    • A Systems Engineer at Packetlogix is a subject matter expert on all products and solutions we work with. Manufacturer training and certifications will be required and must be maintained
    • This is a customer-facing position, responsible to meet with (in person and virtually) customers regularly to discuss and demonstrate solutions
    • Be responsible for customer installations/configuration and be the technical lead on those projects
    • Must work as a team with other PacketLogix engineering staff to complete larger projects efficiently
    • Ability to work with Account team as engineering support when needed
    • Rotating in on on-call ‘off-peak’ hours support may be required

     

    Travel requirements vary from 25-50%. Engineering must report to Warren, RI office when not traveling.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in field support, professional services or a technical support role with multiple job responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMWare and Hyper-V) is required.
  • Experience in public cloud computing (Office 365, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is required.
  • Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Aruba Networks, and wireless is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Networking basics: Layer 2, Layer 3 routing protocols 
  • Understanding or experience in Information Security (firewall, intrusion prevention, breach detection) is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft servers: Windows, Network Policy Server, Exchange, SharePoint, and Dynamics CRM is preferred
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong account management skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Extreme commitment to customer service and enhancing the customer experience
  • Excellent computing skills
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize customer support tools/resources
